Cassie is a nurse that Ben briefly dated in Season 1.
They met when Ben took Emma to her first physical with him, and quickly hit it off. Ben asked Riley to spend some time with Cassie to check her out, and even though Riley was jealous, she spoke favorably of the other woman.
However, when they all attended one of Danny's hockey games, Cassie revealed to Riley that she was aware of her feelings for Ben. When she pointed out that Riley would never be more than "Fatpants" to Ben, Riley started a rather violent fight with her, much to the delight of the remaining audience. Ben broke up with Cassie soon after.
